Mystery Friends
Though cheekily self-described as "moderately danceable," Mystery Friends doesn't want you to sit still. Drawing influences from Blondie to Dua Lipa (and so much more), the DC-based band makes fresh synth-pop and disco-tinged tracks you didn't know you were missing.
Since forming in 2017, the band has been anchored by founding members duo Abby Sevcik (vocals) and Dave Mohl (synth/guitar), though the sound has continually evolved. Onstage, Mystery Friends sports a roster of six performers (and oftentimes more…) with a singular focus of making each show a party. In that spirit, the band has captivated audiences with high-energy live performances, playing venues across the country, alongside lauded acts like De Lux, Couch, and Sub Radio. The band offers a sound the Washington Post described as "new wave and synth-pop, made timeless with a solid foundation of pop-rock songwriting and the dramatic vocals of frontwoman Abby Sevcik." Mystery Friends wants you to feel their songs inside and out.
After spending much of 2023 in hibernation to write and record new music, Mystery Friends emerges in 2024 with their second full length album “Utopia,”chronicling the highs and lows of a pandemic-fueled love affair. With the album finally ready, the band can't wait to bring these tracks to life on stage. You won't want to miss the party.

KINDA EVIL intertwines familiar elements to bring this rock band out of the garage and craft a sound that reflects the idea that we’re all capable of being KINDA EVIL at times. Some of their songs incorporate elements of aggressive punk and dark doom, while others delve into beautiful and cinematic territories, evoking a bittersweet and soft ambiance. This four piece brews a darkly potent elixir that calls upon the duality of good and evil, appealing to fans of The Dead Weather, Black Sabbath, Hole, and Queens of the Stone Age.
