In 2023, I.M.P. opened its newest venue, The Atlantis, named after the venue that previously operated in the 9:30 Club’s original location at 930 F St. With less than half the capacity of the current 9:30 Club next door, The Atlantis offers an even deeper sense of intimacy between artists and fans.Â
In that same spirit, and inspired by the 9:30 Club’s punk roots, I.M.P. launched The Atlantis Zine as a fun and creative way to spotlight the emerging talent coming through our doors. Whether it’s a lesson on show etiquette from Professor Punk, a guide to the best pre-show bites, or showcasing concert photographers, The Atlantis Zine celebrates the community surrounding the music. Drawing inspiration from ‘80s and ‘90s fanzines, and the work of original 9:30 Club designer Mark Holmes, it’s a free, tangible tribute to D.C.’s music scene—and an escape from perpetual doomscrolling and A.I. slop.
